Quotes and pricing

How do I get a quote?

Fill in the quote form with your addresses, date, home size and contact details, or call (424) 537-5595. The more detail you give about stairs, elevators, parking and large items, the more accurate the quote.

What affects the cost of a move?

The amount of furniture and boxes, the number of movers needed, stairs, elevators and walking distance at both addresses, the drive between them, packing, and any special items such as a piano. Your quote is based on your actual move, not a generic price.

Will I get my quote in writing?

Yes. Your rate and terms are given in writing before move day.

What payment methods does Kobe Moving accept?

Kobe Moving accepts cash, Zelle, Venmo and credit cards. If a card fee applies, it is shown on your paperwork.

Planning your move

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can, especially for weekends, the end of the month and the summer months, which are the busiest times for moves in Los Angeles.

What should I do before the movers arrive?

Finish packing and seal every box, label boxes with the room they go to, reserve elevators and loading areas, plan where the truck will park, and set aside valuables, documents and medication to carry yourself.

What can movers not take?

Hazardous materials such as gasoline, propane tanks, paint, solvents and other flammable or corrosive items should not go on a moving truck. Plan to dispose of them or move them yourself where it is legal and safe.

Do you take apart and reassemble furniture?

Furniture that needs to come apart to be moved, such as many bed frames and tables, can be taken apart and put back together. List large or complex pieces on the quote form.

Your rights as a California customer

How can I check a mover's permit in California?

Household movers in California must hold a permit and show their name and number in their advertising. Kobe Moving's number is shown at the bottom of every page: Registration # 202108. You can look up any mover with the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services.

Is there a consumer guide for moves within California?

Yes. The state publishes Important Information for Persons Moving Household Goods (within California), which explains estimates, liability and your rights. Read it before any move inside California.

Are my belongings covered during the move?

California rules set a basic level of mover liability for household moves. Ask about the coverage options for your move when you get your quote, and read the state consumer guide for details.

Still have questions?
