Movers in Sherman Oaks
Sherman Oaks is a San Fernando Valley neighborhood in the City of Los Angeles. Here is what to plan for when you move there, from Kobe Moving in Van Nuys.
Moving in Sherman Oaks
Sherman Oaks is just south of Van Nuys, spread on both sides of the 405 and 101 interchange. Ventura Boulevard runs through the middle of it. South of the boulevard the streets climb into the hills toward Mulholland Drive; north of it are flatter blocks of apartments, condos and single-family homes.
Those two halves are different moves. A condo off Moorpark Street is mostly about the elevator and the loading area. A home in the hills is mostly about getting a truck up the street and carrying furniture down the driveway or the steps.
From our Van Nuys base, Sherman Oaks is directly south, a short drive down Sepulveda Boulevard or the 405.
What to plan for in Sherman Oaks
Hillside streets south of Ventura
Streets in the hills are narrow, winding and steep, and some driveways are too tight for a large truck. Tell us on the quote form if you live in the hills, and send a photo of the street and driveway if you can.
Condos and apartments north of Ventura
Many buildings near Moorpark Street and Riverside Drive have garages with low clearance and elevators that need to be booked. Get the move rules from your HOA or manager early.
Planning around the interchange
The 405 and 101 interchange is one of the busiest in Los Angeles. A morning start before peak traffic usually makes the drive part of the move shorter.
Moving over the hill
Moves from Sherman Oaks to the Westside go through the Sepulveda Pass. If your new home is in West LA or Santa Monica, plan the start time with us.

Sherman Oaks moving questions
Can a moving truck get up my hillside street in Sherman Oaks?
It depends on the street and the driveway. Tell us your address and send photos when you request a quote so the truck size and the crew plan fit the street.
My Sherman Oaks condo has an elevator. What should I do?
Reserve the elevator for your move date with the HOA or building manager, ask if pads are required, and put the reserved time on the quote form.
