Movers in Pasadena
Pasadena is its own city, separate from the City of Los Angeles. Here is what to plan for when you move there, from Kobe Moving in Van Nuys.
Moving in Pasadena
Pasadena is its own city at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, known for Old Pasadena, Caltech, the Rose Bowl and the Tournament of Roses Parade every New Year's Day. Many neighborhoods, including Bungalow Heaven, are full of older Craftsman houses, alongside apartment and condo buildings near the city center.
Older homes need extra care: original wood floors, narrow doorways and tight stairways. Pasadena also has a few city-specific rules and dates that are worth planning around.
From our Van Nuys base, Pasadena is east on the 134, which becomes the 210 as it enters Pasadena.
What to plan for in Pasadena
Overnight street parking
Pasadena does not allow overnight parking on city streets without a permit. Do not plan to leave a rental truck or trailer on the street the night before a move.
Rose Parade and Rose Bowl dates
Colorado Boulevard closes for the Rose Parade around New Year's Day, and Rose Bowl events bring heavy traffic. Avoid those dates if you can, or tell us early.
Craftsman and older homes
Original floors, built-ins and narrow doors need protection and careful carrying. Note any tight stairways and doorways on the quote form.
Apartments near the center
Buildings near Old Pasadena and Lake Avenue often have garage height limits and set move hours. Ask your manager and share the details with us.
