Movers in West LA
West LA is a Westside neighborhood in the City of Los Angeles. Here is what to plan for when you move there, from Kobe Moving in Van Nuys.
Moving in West LA
West Los Angeles sits around the 405 and 10 interchange, between Brentwood, Westwood, Santa Monica and Mar Vista. Sawtelle Boulevard, with its Japantown restaurants and shops, runs through the middle. Most of the housing is apartments, many of them in classic Los Angeles buildings with parking tucked under the units.
With UCLA close by, a lot of West LA moves follow the school year, and leases tend to turn over in early summer and before the fall term.
From our Van Nuys base, West LA is south through the Sepulveda Pass on the 405.
What to plan for in West LA
Buildings with parking under the units
Many West LA apartment buildings have carports beneath the units and little room out front. Tell us about the building and send a photo if you can, so the truck spot is planned.
Sawtelle parking
Street parking near Sawtelle Boulevard is scarce, especially in the evening and on weekends. A morning move is usually easier.
Lease turnover months
Moves cluster in June and late summer around the UCLA school calendar, and at the end of every month. Book early if your date falls then.
The 405 and 10 interchange
West LA is right at one of the busiest interchanges in the city. The start time matters as much as the distance.
