Movers in Panorama City

Panorama City is the Valley's first planned community, now a dense central Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles. Here is what to plan for when you move there, from Kobe Moving in Van Nuys.

About Panorama City

Panorama City was the Valley's first planned community, built on farmland in the housing boom after World War II. Today it has the highest population density in the Valley, with a mix of single-family homes and low-rise apartment buildings. It touches Van Nuys on the south, North Hills on the west, Mission Hills on the north and Sun Valley on the east.

Van Nuys Boulevard is the main street, with Metro Rapid buses and the planned East San Fernando Valley light rail along it. The Kaiser Permanente medical center sits at Woodman Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard.

Local moving notes

  1. Low-rise apartmentsTwo and three story buildings rarely have elevators. Give us the floor number and the number of stairs, and say if furniture must turn on a landing.
  2. Street parking is tightDense blocks fill up overnight. A neighbor's driveway or a side-street spot you can hold makes loading much faster.
  3. Van Nuys Boulevard workTransit construction can close lanes along Van Nuys Boulevard. Check for closures near your address the week before the move.
  4. Short movesA move of a few blocks still needs the same packing and protection as a long one. Wrap and box everything as if it were going across town.

From our Van Nuys base, Panorama City is just north and east, up Van Nuys Boulevard or Sepulveda Boulevard.

Parking and permits in Panorama City

Street parking here follows City of Los Angeles rules. On dense blocks, the best plan is often to save a spot the evening before with your own cars and move them in the morning. LADOT is clear that a Preferential Parking District permit does not exempt any vehicle from no-parking zones or street cleaning.
