Movers in Toluca Lake
Toluca Lake is a small southeast Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles that spills over into Burbank. Here is what to plan for when you move there, from Kobe Moving in Van Nuys.
About Toluca Lake
Toluca Lake covers a little over one square mile of the southeast Valley, bounded by Universal City, Studio City, North Hollywood and the city of Burbank. Its name comes from a private lake fed by wells and maintained by the property owners around it. The neighborhood was developed from 1923 as a bedroom community, with the Lakeside golf course at its center.
Much of the housing dates back decades. The local chamber notes that Toluca Lake spills over into Burbank, so the same name can mean two different cities.
Local moving notes
- Los Angeles or Burbank?Check whether your address is in the City of Los Angeles or the City of Burbank. Parking rules and any permits come from that city.
- Older homesOlder homes can have narrow doorways and tight stair turns. Big antique pieces may need to come apart or be wrapped and padded with extra care.
- Trees at the curbLow branches can limit where a tall truck can stop. Tell us if your curb is shaded by large trees.
- Riverside DriveIf your address is on Riverside Drive, plan to load from a side street where the truck can stand legally.
From our Van Nuys base, Toluca Lake is east on the 101 and 134, at the southeast corner of the Valley.
