Movers in Valencia
Valencia is the master-planned community at the west side of Santa Clarita. Here is what to plan for when you move there, from Kobe Moving in Van Nuys.
About Valencia
Valencia is the master-planned community on the west side of Santa Clarita, first planned in the 1960s by the Newhall Land and Farming Company. It runs from Lyons Avenue north past Copper Hill Drive, and from the 5 freeway east to Bouquet Canyon and Seco Canyon roads. Most of Valencia east of the freeway is in the city, and the parts west of it are unincorporated county land.
Valencia's landscaped boulevards connect apartments, single-family homes, shopping centers, office parks and warehouses. McBean Parkway is the main north to south road, Santa Clarita City Hall is on Valencia Boulevard, and a network of paved paths called paseos runs over and under the streets.
Local moving notes
- Paseo-facing homesSome homes face a paseo rather than the street. The truck still parks on the street, so tell us how far it is from the curb to your door.
- Townhome complexesShared parking lots and narrow drive aisles. Ask your HOA where a box truck can stand.
- City or county? If your address is west of the 5, it is in unincorporated Los Angeles County, not the City of Santa Clarita.
- Office and warehouse movesFor office parks and industrial buildings, share the loading dock details and the hours the building is open.
From our Van Nuys base, Valencia is north on the 405 and 5, just past the Newhall Pass.

Parking and permits in Valencia
Most of Valencia is part of the City of Santa Clarita, so city parking rules apply there. West of the 5, some of Valencia is unincorporated county land, where Los Angeles County rules apply instead. A city ban on commercial vehicles of 10,000 pounds or more in a residential district does not apply, under state law, to a vehicle making pickups or deliveries of goods for a building on that street.
