Moving in West Hills
West Hills was once part of Canoga Park and became its own neighborhood with its own name. It sits at the far west edge of the Valley, against the Simi Hills and the Ventura County line, and is reached from the 101 by the Valley Circle Boulevard exit. Historic ranch sites such as Orcutt Ranch and Shadow Ranch are now city parks.
Most homes are lived in by their owners, and the open-space parks to the west have hiking and horse trails. Summers are hot, much like nearby Woodland Hills.
From our Van Nuys base, West Hills is west to the end of the Valley, by the 101 or Victory Boulevard.
What to plan for in West Hills
Family homes

West Hills borders Ventura County. Moves to Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village or Simi Valley are short drives west.
Parking and permits in West Hills
Street parking here follows City of Los Angeles rules. On streets near the county line, the truck should not block driveways or trailheads. LADOT defines an oversize vehicle as longer than 22 feet or taller than 84 inches and can bar such vehicles overnight, 2:00 to 6:00 AM, on posted streets.
